City of the Heavens [ My Story ]

Post by Alak Rupel Arclight on Mon Jun 10, 2013 2:50 am

The city of Truth was a beautiful one, no doubt about that. Never left, was always living there my entire life. Most people would say that was a blessing, but I just felt like it was nothing but a curse. Unlike everyone else, I was there, without my family. No one there to hold me, and tell me that it was going to be okay, other than the old men, that seemed to linger on about the temple. I guess you could call it a Church, something like that. Honestly, there were some nice people there, never afraid to lend a hand, that sort of thing.

They were Angels, some of them without wings, some of them with wings. The ones without were the White Knights of Truth himself, sent there to guard the city, and the people and children, that lived there for all eternity. It was the most beautiful place ever. But it wasn't shit, to someone like me. Someone, without his mother... his father... his siblings. It was, nothing. I wandered around for eons, just going up and down the streets, all alone. See as much as everyone cares for each other, they have a responsibility too. To their jobs, and their own families. Not everyone, can take you in and raise you, thus, like mentioned, I was alone.

I usually just looked out for myself, sometimes the younger kids, that couldn't reach what they were trying to climb to get. I often hid my form, because it was dangerous, and brought out attention. See, my Father, was the Original Angel. The best, the most powerful, the most beautiful. But he was special, in a way that made him called something very, very un-Angelic. "An Abomination" - he was called this. Why? Why was the great Angel of Salvation called something to sinister? He had long navy-colored hair, rage-red eyes, pale skin, and the largest pair of wings you'd ever see. He was said to have gotten those wings, from a God. He had a twin brother, by the name of Christopher, who I strangely seem to take after a bit more, since we're both soft-spoken. If we even speak at all. Salvation was great, and powerful, but his appearance, and his desires, labeled him something far different from that of a "true" Angel.

It was because of this, that he was sent to Hell, straight into Oblivion. Where he would meet the King, who originally owned all three regions, and then some. Salvation, was no more, and not allowed back into the land of the Heavens, so I would never see my Father. He was banished and not allowed to be King of the Heavens all because of how he looked. When Chris took the Crown he had raged, so much so, that he turned away from his purpose. He forgot about me, at least, I'm pretty sure he did. He could have stayed around for me, somewhere on the Scale where it was safe. But no, his love was for the King now.

My mother was a hybrid. She was a powerful entity, that was not a God by any accord. She was nothing more than the Original Hybrid's daughter, least that's what we thought, until Leonard turned out to be Truth himself. My mother, was the daughter, of THE Draconian God. AKA: the God, himself. The God that made Godz, and the God that decided everything. Truth. But Truth still had to obey the Scale, much like his brother Oblivion, also had to. This however, she really didn't know much about. It was said that her memory was erased, by the Tyrant King himself, when they took her.

They said my mother had eyes and hair of sapphire. That she was beautiful, and the Balancer of the Scale. She was neutral and powerful, but never used it to harm anyone. I longed to find her for so very long. Truly, but there was nothing I could do. I had no way of leaving the Heavens, someone would notice.

I was to be the King of the Heavens, I was the next heir, and what better than Truth's grandchild to lead on his Kingdom of Light. But I didn't want this! I wanted... to find my family. I had to find Salvation, he was rumored to have seen the Future, and to have been around the Scale somewhere seeking out my mother when she was brought back and fourth between regions... I had to find them!

All I wanted... was to be with my family. To be loved. But the Heavens were to stiff to let me leave. So I went into hiding to avoid their plans for me...

In exchange for my hiding, I offered people things.

Depended on what I had to give, but I healed people, traded with people - anything. Anything to keep Truth's guards from finding me. I wore a long shawl always, and kept my head down. For so long I kept my wings retracted, only at night when all else was asleep, did I open my wings. Sometimes I went weeks, years... eons... whatever - leaving them inside me. They would fight to come out and I would go crazy - my eyes burning, my head spinning. Thankfully, an old peddler man had taken me in, and a family as well for a while, and they would put me to rest, with a cloth with water, over my forehead until I awoke from such black outs. How dangerous this was and became, so I had to run and run again.

My nails would never stop growing. Cutting them off was hard, because they kept growing back faster, and longer. My eyes were always red, and my skin was so pale, the red glint sometimes shimmered onto my cheeks. I had to keep my face covered, so that no one would see what I truly was. For I was no better than Salvation, I was also an Abomination, at least - I must have been. I had read about my Father. How could they want me, when I was such a spitting image of him? Looking in the mirrors many times I had asked this. Strangely, I never had an answer. But the truth was still hidden inside me, perhaps it was because I could hide myself, that they wanted me. They had to have known that I could do this. They had to know this was why I could not be found. Perhaps, they thought me dead. I did not know.

When I looked in the mirror, and stood there, I stared. Stepping out of the shower, I could see my body, strangely different in ways, and then the same. I had no tail, like my Father was said to have had. My body was rather humanoid-looking, and my chest was carved with perfection in mind, as was the rest of me. No wings, just skin, and that of red eyes. Then there was my hair. Something I had to cut off many times to hide. It often grew to my ankles, sometimes even in my sleep... I had to run for my life once. I had been living with a family, and they'd woken me at night, freaking out because of my hair. Over and over again I kept fleeing. Hoping that there was another place to stay. Hoping that I would find more answers from more people.

Other than studies, books, and artifacts... or people whispering, I heard nothing though.

Many people in the Heavenly regions, find ways to be happy. Like, normally, they always are. Even those who aren't covered in gold, able to fly, that sort of thing. They're just relaxed, okay with where they live, and perfectly fine with answering to the Godz of the Light path. I often wondered how they could just go on like that, but then again, I realized that together, they were all a family. Even some people considered me family once in a while - I just never "felt" like I was. Since my real family, was a far.

There were times, where I wished I just wasn't born. What was a child without his Father? What was a kid, who couldn't speak with his mother? That's how I felt, still do, at times. I waited for a really, really long time - for someone to come back for me. But it never happened. If anyone caught me, it was only to try and take me back to the Castle. I suppose we could talk about that, since I'm sure everyone wants to know.

The inside of the Castle was beautiful, there was no mistaking that. Then again, everything was beautiful. From the people, the guardians, to the Godz, everything, and everyone - was damn near perfect.

I was dragged in by a few knights, White Knights, Truth's foot patrol or something.

I did whatever I could to run, and get away. I was kicking and screaming, punching, and throwing myself around, just to try and get out of their hold. But they were stronger than me, and put me before a few of the Leading Angels, and even Truth himself once. I cried, begged, and pleaded. Said that I didn't want to be King. But they kept pressuring me. I told them that my Uncle was a great King, though short-lived, I said they needed someone like him. I acted rebellious, because I was. I did not want to wear this "Crown of Light" - or be worshiped as some King of Heavenly accord. No! I wanted my parents! And they refused to give them back to me!

I waited, all night, and all the next day. I sat there, and I planned my escape.

Truth was off being a God, and the other Angels were on the move. It was all I could do. Plan, move, and execute this, with flawless motion. And so I did. The palace was awesome, but security was tight everywhere I went. I was locked up in the High Tower, in my bedroom, which was astonishing. There were tons of pillows, lavish blankets, and fancy furniture. Everything was gorgeous, and brilliant - nothing of which I needed. I had survived with so very much less.

The Angels in the skies, returned to the Castle when the darkness covered the skies. It was then that I slipped through the window, and fell downwards, towards the fucking ground. As the ground came up at my face I fought with my body, daring it to open up my large wings. It was right before I slammed into the flooring, that I managed to get them open, the slime that covered them from being in my back so long.. it was disgusting. The sickening cracks that were heard, were unreal and fucking gross. But it had to happen. The feathering opened up on either wing and unfurled, adjusting within milliseconds as I was thrown into the air. I sailed through the air and struggled to flap my wings, but eventually, I was out of the palace, and far enough away, to get out of there.

There was an alarm that was sounded. I was "Wanted" now.

Now, I had to do everything I could, to never, ever come into contact with them again. A life of running, hiding, and avoiding people - would never have been so difficult.
